Protest in Egypte [screenshot - Huff Post]Violent confrontations in Alexandria have left two Egyptians and one American dead.

The 21-year-old US citizen’s identity has been confirmed as student Andrew Pochter.

According to reports he was filming clashes near the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood in Alexandria when he was stabbed in the chest.

Amid the rising tension the US has warned its citizens not to travel to the country and began evacuating personnel. …

Clashes erupted during warm-up rallies on Friday which are a prelude for mass protests scheduled for Sunday calling for President Mohammed Morsi to step down.

In Tahrir square, the birthplace of the 2011 revolution, protesters gathered on Saturday ahead of the one year anniversary of Morsi’s inauguration.

Fuel is in short supply adding to the economic turmoil in the country, bringing many out on the streets to demand his resignation.
